The best band of Spanish music:El Canto Del Loco

El Canto del Loco (also brief ECDL) is a Spanish group, which style of music fits inside the pop rock, though his members admit that some of his songs belong more to the kind power pop.
It was created in 1994 by Dani Martin and Iván Ganchegui (that later would leave the group, in 2002), though five final components would not be assembled until a few years later. Influenced principally by other Spanish groups of the decade of 1980 and with five álbumes of study, The Singing of the 'El Canto Del Loco' has managed to sell more than one million copies on the market, turning into one of the most important musical groups of the Spanish.

There has received three nominations to the MTV Europe Music Awards in the category of " Better Spanish artist ", of which they have won in two occasions, and Waves of Music were rewarded by two Prizes in the categories of " Better live artist " (2004 ) and " Better artist or Spanish group " (2005).

Origin of the group

The origins of the group are in the school of dramatic art Cristina Rota, where Dani Martin was studying from 1994, when he was 18 years old. There it knew a boy called Iván Ganchegui, which was touching the guitar, and with the one that, after discovering that both were sharing the same musical tastes, mounted a group. Both were admirers of the band Future Radio and especially of his song The singing of the rooster, which led them to baptizing the group as 'El Canto Del Loco'. During these beginning, the group, besides both founders, was including a girl to the battery, to a bassist and to another guitarist. Nevertheless, the latter left the group for lack of time, and, the day before his first concert, David Otero, cousin of Dani, joined the group as his substitute. Little later, the baterista and the bassist also decided to leave the group. In substitution of the baterista, there appeared Jandro Velázquez, an electrician who was a son of a few friends of the parents of Dani and whom this one knew in a Fleming's contest. Chema Ruiz, a Cantabrian who was studying physical therapy in David's university and who was a friend of his friend, it occupied the bassist's position. From then, five components began to meet in Algete's industrial ship (Madrid) to test and his friends were using them as critics.

The beginning of the band

One year later, they recorded a model and began to send it to different record; nevertheless, it was Dani's meeting with the producer Pedro of the Mulberry tree the one that gave to them his opportunity. This one listened to the model and took her to the record Ariola (nowadays Sony BMG), where Alpaca Martin, discoverer of other groups like Future Radio and Men G, listened to her. Then the group received his call and proposed them a test, in which they would give a concert together with other two groups, with the aim that the company was registering one of them. Finally and in spite of the fact that the concert was not very good, El Canto Del Loco, was the chosen one.

On June 16, 2000 there puts to the sale the first album of study of the group, produced by the ex-singer of the group On Tequila, Alejo Stivel. Before the above mentioned album was recorded, they proposed them to change the name of the group into others as "Supermice", " The " or mobiles " Lulú's sweet smile "; nevertheless, they refused and for it they called to the first album with the name of the group, El Canto Del Loco.
